Netball Super League NXT Gen League: Development League Hits Halfway Point

The Netball Super League NXT Gen League creates an opportunity for emerging young talent to develop alongside the Netball Super League (NSL). The competition sees nine sides- all the franchises of the Netball Super League alongside Team Bath- play each other home and away running until the weekend of 14th- 15th of June, with fixtures aligned alongside NSL matches wherever possible to increase visibility and integration between pathways. While eligibility primarily focuses on players under 23, regulations allow squads to include up to 4 over-23 athletes.

A Look Back on the 2025 Season

In the inaugural season, the NXT Gen title went down to the final-round fixtures, with Loughborough Lightning ultimately crowned champions following a dramatic conclusion which allowed them to secure top spot and lift the inaugural NXT Gen League title despite losing to Birmingham Panthers (45-41).

2026 Season

For the 2026 season, the Amex Super Shot has been added, introducing the same jeopardy as the NSL matches.

The competition reached its halfway stage this past weekend, and the league table remains tightly contested with Loughborough Lightning NXT Gen currently leading the standings. Whilst London Pulse NXT Gen sits just one point behind, highlighting the competitive balance that has defined the opening rounds.

The standings after Round 9:
