Looking Back on the 2025 Super Cup

The 2025 Netball Super Cup provided the first glimpse into the new era of the Netball Super League, setting the tone for a more professional-driven competition. The condensed format and shortened matches delivered intensity from the opening whistle, while the introduction of the Super Shot added a new tactical layer that immediately reshaped game management in the closing stages of each half, and would become integral to the rest of the season.

London Pulse emerged as the inaugural Super Cup champions, showing resilience after an inconsistent start to the group stage before finding their momentum. Their narrow semi-final win over Manchester Thunder highlighted the fine margins created by the new scoring rules, before a composed performance in the final saw them overcome Leeds Rhinos to lift the trophy.

Beyond the results, the introduction of the Super Shot proved decisive, squad rotations revealed emerging talent, and the overall standard reinforced the league’s intent to modernise its product.
